Next 3 Big Names in Music: The Girls

Hey everyone. Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I have actually been kind of...busy? Wow. That's a first, right? But anyways this week I'm going to do three blogs about newcomers in music. Today will focus on the girls. And this week you will see two more about the Guys and the Bands. Now here are the three girls who I think are going to be huge (and may already be on their way).

Sara Bareilles

With her album Little Voice already in the Top 10 Albums on Bilboard, this girl is definitely on her way. Her song entitled "Love Song" is already very popular. Contrary to the belief of her being labeled a "one hit wonder", I believe that she will surpass that and become a musical legend. Sure it's early, but I think she has the potential to be a great musician. Singer-songwriters are always very popular with me and hopefully, with the rest of the world. I plan on seeing her in April and I don't think I will be disappointed. With a major push from the Rhapsody commercial, Sara has definitely made a name for herself and will continue making great music.

Kate Nash

"You said I must eat so many lemons, because I am so bitter, I said I'd rather be with your friends, mate, because they are much...fitter." God bless Kate Nash. Her music not only eases through the headphones, it transcends through the soul. After being relatively unknown to the public eye, she has skyrocketed into the mainstream with her powerful song "Foundations", which is soon to be a break-up song classic. She may have been out for a few years, but I believe Ms. Nash will be everywhere. Sure that might disappoint some die-hard fans but she totally deserves to be heard by all kinds of people. Plus, the cockney-British accent is a plus.

Leona Lewis
Sara's got the charm. Kate's got the attitude. Leona's got the voice. Critics are already comparing her to Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion (which aren't bad comparisons considering the vocal range of those artists). Leona was the winner of "The X Factor" (the British equivilant to American Idol) and is making a big name for herself. Her song "Bleeding Love" is climbing the charts and I recently caught her on Oprah. So even if you are not a fan of pop/R&B music, I would still definitely check out this artist, she is amazing and has one of the best voices to come out of this decade.

Well that, about it kids. Hope you check out my other posts. Feel free to comment. Take care.
